Coming up ahead is the village of Titirangi. Most of the houses here are built in the Waitakere Ranges and have unusual designs. Some houses are raised on poles to avoid the damp. The Waitakere Ranges experience very high rainfall and an abundance of native birds make the area their home. Titirangi stretches from Titirangi Beach on the Manukau Harbour to parts of the Waitakere Ranges as high as 400meters above sea level.
