Coming up on the left/right is the turn off to the Mahurangi Regional Park. The park is named after the nearby Maharungi Harbour and consists of native bush, beautiful bays and historic sites. The area is divided into 3 different sections Mahurangi West, Scott Point and Mahurangi East. Maharungi West forms the backdrop to some impressive beaches, while Maharungi East is only accessible via the ocean. You'll also find the historic Scott homestead at Scotts Point. The Mahurangi Regional Park is a popular boating destination, especially during the summer months.
