Coming up a turnoff leads up a carpark located at the start of the Mt Donald McLean Track. From here an easy 15 minute hike leads to the panoramic summit of Mt Donald McLean, 389 metres above sea level. A number of other hikes which explore the southernmost regions of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park also depart from here.
