You are now in the vicinity of the Pohutukawa Coast. This beautiful coastal area is named after the pohutukawa trees that grow along the cliffs and bloom bright red flowers at Christmas time. Both Maraetai and nearby Omana beach are great for swimming, sunbathing, fishing and picnicking. On route to these beaches you will pass Te Puru Park with yet another child friendly beach, outdoor playground and skateboard ramp.
