You are now approaching the town of Paengoroa. The town was established in 1912 as a farming community. At its start, Paengoroa had only the basic amenities such as a general store, a school and a blacksmiths shop. In the past, the residents of Paengoroa would enjoy house parties where families would gather and sing songs around a piano or play cards while children and young people played tennis. Despite its location near the Kiwi capital of the world, the village has remained much the same, with locals who enjoy a simple, wholesome way of life.
