Coming up ahead is the Waihi heritage Museum. The museum showcases the history of the gold mining era in the Ohinemuri and Waihi Mines. The museum exhibitions include paintings, pottery, crafts and photography from days gone by. The museum was established in 1962 by artist Eric Lee-Johnson and besides his works, the gallery also showcases many notable artists and crafts people.
