You are now approaching the Pacific Coast Macadamia Nut Company. The nut orchard is found between Opotiki and Hicks Bay against a hill overlooking Whanarua Bay. The Macadamia trees grow prolifically here because of the favourable conditions and warm coastal climate. Visitors can take a tour of the plantation and witness how macadamia nuts are grown, cracked and cooked to perfection. Nut products are for sale in the orchard shop and there’s also a café for visitors to enjoy.
