You are now approaching Waiere Falls. The falls can be seen from Te Aroha-Okauia Road and are signposted from the Goodwin Road turnoff. The falls are spectacular and drop 153 meters before creating a number of river falls and cascades too. The Waiere Falls track is available for visitors who want to enjoy the natural surroundings including groves of nikau, puriri, kohekohe and native forest. From the falls lookout there is an amazing view of the valley and the Waikato Plains. In summer there are plenty of pools to paddle in and during springtime, you’ll notice the apricot coloured flowers of the sandpaper plant growing on the rocky valley walls.
