You are now approaching the South Canterbury Museum. Discover the heritage of the region and marvel at the hundreds of artifacts on display. There are fossils, clothing and a replica of an aircraft flown by Richard Pearse. Discover the geology of South Canterbury, the wildlife, the Maori history and household items from the early European settlement. The museum is open on Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 4.30pm and on weekends and public holidays from 1.30 to 4.30 pm.
