You are now approaching Bealey Historic Hotel. Situated on the banks of the Waimakariri River, this three star accommodation is just a short walk to the city centre and Cathedral Square. Visitors to the hotel can enjoy Kiwi cuisine and New Zealand wines in Bealey’s Speight’s Ale House and Restaurant. On the right of the cap park is a picture of a moa, a bird indigenous to New Zealand that is believed to be extinct. The picture was taken by a group of visitors who claimed to have seen one of these birds and photographed it to prove their experience.
