You are now approaching the Driving Creek Railway. This is New Zealand’s only narrow-gauge mountain railway with a working pottery and wild life sanctuary. The railway offers a 1-hour return trip on their specially designed trains. The trains take you through a replanted native kauri forest that includes 2 spirals, 3 short tunnels and 5 reversing points. This is one of New Zealand’s most popular attraction and it is advisable to book beforehand to ensure a seat.
