You are approaching the Thames Butterfly and Orchid Garden. This is New Zealand’s first and only tropical butterfly and orchid house. This is also the only home of butterflies from all over the world in New Zealand and Australia. The butterfly house is fully sheltered and heated and is ideal for both sunny and rainy days. There are more than 100 different plant species and over 250 exotic orchids. The butterfly house is also home to many different types of birds such as Finches, Doves and Quails.
