Coming up now is the Thames Historical Museum. The museum has a number of “period rooms” filled with genuine local furnishings and clothing. They also have a variety of “period shops” like a Barber’s shop, Palmer’s Sweet Shop, a grocer and a dress shop complete with models. In addition to a large medicinal exhibit, the museum also has large displays depicting Maori history, including Maori artifacts and photos of local Maori people.
