You are approaching the turnoff to the Titirangi Reserve, also known as Kaiti Hill. Follow the green and yellow signs to the summit. On route to the top you will pass the “Te-Poho-O-Rawiri Marae.” This is a large and well known Maori meeting house which has even been visited by royalty. The whole of Kaiti Hill is considered a historic tourist attraction and includes a Cook monument, Gisborne’s astrodome, a park and look-outs over Gisborne and Poverty Bay.
