Coming up is Lake Tutira. The weeping willow trees make this a great picnic and camping spot. The lake is a bird sanctuary thanks to William Herbert Gutherie-Smith, he was an author and farmer in the area and insisted that the lake become a bird sanctuary. The lake is also good for swimming and trout fishing but please note that motorboats are not permitted on the lake.
