Coming up is the Kaikoura I-Site Visitor Information Centre, the Kaikoura Museum and the Garden of Memories. The visitor centre will provide you with free information about accommodation, activities and transport in the region. Kaikoura Museum is open daily and you’ll see Maori artifacts, and get some insight into the activities of whaling, fishing, farming and saw milling which tell the story of Kaikoura. The Garden of Memories features arches which are made from a jawbones of a whale and is filled with Norfolk pines. On the hill above the garden are the remains of the historic Takahanga Maori pa.
