Coming up on the left/right is the turnoff to Molesworth Station and the Hanmer Springs Ski Area. Molesworth Station is the largest farm in New Zealand and covers an area of 180 476 hectares. The road that goes through the station stretches between Hanmer Springs and Blenheim and is a 6 hour drive. Some parts of the drive travel along private roads. Hanmer Springs Ski Area is found on Mount St Patrick and caters for every level of skiing ability. 10% of the slopes are for beginners, 60% for intermediate level and the remaining 30% for experts. Ski season is from early July to mid September and the area usually has a good snowfall.
