You are now approaching the Waipara Valley Vineyards and railway. Waipara wine region has about 13 vineyards and is a growing wine region. The local vineyards offer tours and tastings by arrangement and include Canterbury House vineyards, Chancellor Wines of Waipara and Daniel Schuster Wines. The Weka Pass historic railway offers a 7 kilometer trip to Waikari on the first and third Sunday of every month.
