You are now approaching the Ohau Point Lookout coming up on the left/right. This is the biggest seal colony on the south island. Look out for seals perched on the rocks in the late afternoon and you should be able to see baby seals playing in the waterfall just off the road. Please drive carefully on this stretch of road for at least the next 4 kilometers. Sometimes the seals tend to wander onto the road. Don’t get too close otherwise the seals will bark and start moving toward you. Make a stop at one of the several roadside caravans who sell freshly cooked crayfish when you feel like a bite to eat.
