Coming up ahead is Aratiatia Rapids Scenic Reserve and the Huka Falls River Cruise. The name Aratiatia means “Stairway of Tia†and it refers to is a zig-zag pattern of stakes that allow travelers to embark up a steep climb. There is also a scenic two-hour hiking trail that lies between Huka Falls and the Aratiatia Rapids.
