You are now approaching the town of Takaka and the I-Site Information Center. The town of Takaka is famous for its farming, sawmilling and limestone quarrying in the area. It’s also famous for its cave systems as they contain New Zealand’s deepest vertical shaft, Harwood’s Hole. Another must is the Abel Tasman Drive. It is a coastal drive that takes you around the seaside villages of Pohara, Liger, Tata and into the Abel Tasman National Park.
