You are now approaching the turn-off to the DOC visitor Centre where indepth information regarding the parks 2,500 hectares (6,200 acres) of mature kauri trees can be found. The road is unsealed and follows a pretty stream which offers several picturesque picnic spots as well as a series of gas BBQs along its banks.
