You are approaching the turnoff for Gumdiggers Park. The park is an authentic Kauri Gum digging site that is over 100 years old. Over the years, 40,000 to 150,000 year old buried Kauri Forests have been exposed by the gum diggers. Today the gumdiggers village, equipment and shelters are all on display for you to have a look at and learn the history of this area.
