Coming up is the entrance to Kaikohe Pioneer Village. The museum is a collection of buildings, many of which have historical significance, which were brought together from around the district and restored to represent the pioneer days when Kaikohe was a pioneer village. Buildings like New Zealand’s oldest courthouse and a jail as well as collections of Maori artefacts, gum digging equipment and agricultural machinery make up the village.
