You are now approaching the town of Kohukohu and the Hokianga Harbour Ferry. Kohukohu was once the largest town on the Hokianga Harbour during the days that the area milled Kauri trees. There’s still plenty of history to see in the streets like the heritage villas, the Masonic Lodge and the Anglican Church. Kohukohu is also four kilometers from the Horianga Harbour Ferry, which is a vehicular ferry service that connects the northern side of the harbour to Rawene on the southern side.
