You are approaching the turn off to Opua Village and the Russell Car Ferry. Take the turnoff to visit the village or the car ferry that will take you to Russell, the former capital of New Zealand. Opua is a seaside village with a large marina and a popular yacht club. The settlement’s general store is called The Blue Water Bar and Bistro and is a historic attraction that was built a hundred years ago. The store is a good spot to sit back and enjoy the scenic beauty of Opua.
