From this point, Glenorchy Village is another 40 minutes away. Glenorchy is a pioneering town surrounded by snow capped mountains, glacier fed rivers and ancient beech forest. 20 kilometres further on is Paradise village, a farming settlement. Please note that the road does become a four-wheel drive track and finally a walking path heading for the hills. Both of these districts were filming locations for Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. Enjoy this beautiful scenic drive with magnificent views of Lake Wakatipu.
