You are now approaching Williams Cottage and Queenstown Gardens. The Williams Cottage dates back to 1866. It was restored as a small historical museum but has now become an up market gift shop and café. Opposite the Williams Cottage you will find the Queenstown Gardens, an attractive parkland retreat which covers the peninsula separating Queenstown Bay from the rest of Lake Wakatipu. The land was first designated as a reserve in 1867.
