Coming up is Lake Hawea and Lake Hawea Lookout, also known as â€œthe Neck.â€� Lake Hawea is a long, narrow glacial lake. It is the smallest and most northerly lake of the New Zealand Southern Alpine Lakes. The lake is deeper than neighbouring Lake Wanaka and it is separated by a narrow neck of land which is used as a lookout point. In previous ice ages The Neck interconnected glaciers which filled the valleys. Enjoy the spectacular view and take the opportunity to take some really great photographs!
