Coming up ahead is the Victoria Esplanade Gardens. Built to celebrate Queen Victoria’s 60th Jubilee, the gardens are complete with a duck pond, a cherry drive and a number of Pheonix palm trees. The Esplanade also has beautiful displays of aviaries, rose gardens and walkways. There are sports fields and a children’s playground for visitors to enjoy. The garden also hosts all of Palmerston North’s major events. The Victoria Esplanade Gardens are open weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm and on weekends from 12pm to 4 pm.
