Coming up is the turn-off to River Valley, an award winning adventure centre located on the upper section of the Rangitikei River. Set in a magnificent location, surrounded by high papa cliffs, gorges of violent whitewater, and deep pools full of the promise of fish, it’s the perfect venue for outdoor adventure. Not surprisingly, River Valley’s lodge began life as a whitewater-rafting centre, and today offers river sledging, kayaking, and horse-riding as well.
