Coming up is the turn-off to one of New Zealand’s best kept secrets, Kerosene Creek. This well hidden hot water stream offers a series of hot springs pools where bathers can soak in rock pools, massaged by a constantly running stream of hot water. Parking is available in amongst the pines near the stream and from here you can make your way along a track to the pool of your choice. But a quick word of caution: remember this is a natural experience in untreated pools - to prevent harmful amoebas from entering your system, do not put your head under the water at any time.
