You are now approaching the turnoff to Kurai Park. This popular inner-city reserve is an active geothermal area, home to a number of hot springs, gas and steam up flows. Most of the southern part of the reserve was developed during the 1930’s. The northern part of the reserve still has a number of geothermal features and it’s advised to stay on the demarcated walking trail if you plan to hike up the Rotorua Walkway.
