You are approaching E. Hayes and Sons Hardware Store. This family owned hardware store has been operating for over 100 years and offers the most extensive range of quality giftware, cookware, clothing, tools and much more. It’s also home to the Original Indian motorcycle of Burt Munro, Southland’s motorcycling hero. In February 1957 Munro set a New Zealand Open Beach record of 131 miles per hour at Oreti Beach and in 1975 set a new world record with 136 miles per hour.
