You are now approaching the town of Manaia. You’ll notice a statue of giant bread loaves coming up ahead and that’s because this is the bread capital of New Zealand. The Yarrows Bakery and Taranaki Country Music Hall of Fame are popular attractions. Visit Mount Manaia which is the result of volcanic action between 16 and 22 million years ago. You’ll discover plenty of stories about Maori tradition and you can follow ancient paths through thick bush and admire both the coast and countryside. From the summit you can stand on one of the viewing platforms and admire the 360 degree views of the entire landscape.
