Welcome to Whangamomona, a small town with plenty of old buildings to peruse from the old baker’s shop, to the Post Office, McCluggages Store, the blacksmith’s shop (now housing the local mechanic’s garage), and the former butcher’s. Don’t miss Whangamomona’s iconic pub with its photo-lined walls, M&M’s Café, housed in what was once the old Australasia Bank, and for those who wish to linger in these parts the ‘Bridge to Somewhere’ can be reached from here on a quad bike tour, or via an energetic 40km return hike.
