Coming up on the left/right is the popular surfing beach, Back Beach. The beach is known for consistent surf and autumn and winter are the best times of year to catch a wave. Offshore winds come in from the east and there are left and right breaking reefs. Aim to surf around high tide because the beach is not ever likely to be crowded. Surfers do need to be careful of rips though. These make surfing at Back Beach potentially dangerous.
