You are now approaching the turnoff for Mount Damper Falls coming up on the left/right. After the turnoff the falls are approximately 27 kilometres away. The falls drop a height of 78 meters and are often called the highest waterfall on the North Island. This isn’t true though. Wairere, Ananui and Waitakere Falls are in fact higher. A short walk leads to the falls which starts from the car park. You will cross open farmland and will then have to cross the river via a bridge. After this point you will be surrounded by native bush and the track then goes slightly downhill to the viewing platform.
