You are now approaching Lake Pukaki. The lake was created by a receding glacier that blocked its feeding valley. There are two other lakes nearby and Lake Pukaki is the second largest of the three. The other two lakes are Lake Tekapo and Lake Ohau. Pukaki is surrounded by snow capped peaks and fascinating rock formations. This is a good spot for Kayaking and other water sports.
