Coming up on the left is the Blackwater Rafting Company. The company is the first and one of the best black water adventure rafting operator in the country. They are also the only ones to offer a tour through the Ruakiri Cave. Cave tubing involves sitting in an inflated rubber tube and floating down the river. Groups are usually between 8 and 12 people and 2 experienced guides go with you. There are 2 tours to choose from. Floating through Ruakiri Cave you’ll see the glow-worms lighting up an otherwise pitch dark abyss. Occasionally you’ll need to weave or jump to get through the journey. The Black Abyss journey is a bit more energetic because climbing and abseiling are included with the cave tubing.
