Coming up is the Putaruru Timber Museum where a glimpse of the South Waikato’s past and present day life can be viewed through a series of informative displays depicting the timber milling and logging industry. Highlights include a Tuck and Watkins Sawmill with its original skids, a 2,000-year-old totara log weighing some 20 tonne, and several old buildings including the Arapuni Church, the Taupo Totara Timber Company Order Office, plus a heritage hall bursting with displays of native flora and fauna.
