Coming up is the township of Putaruru, home to the Putaruru Water Park, and the Putaruru pavement art trail which weaves its way through the main streets of town. Putaruru is popular with fly fisherpeople as it is within easy reach of more than 20 rivers filled with trout. Plus its within shouting distance of Te Waihou River’s Blue Springs, reached via the Te Waihou Walkway, which flow at such a rate that their waters could fill a six-lane, 25-metre swimming pool in just over 12 minutes!
