You are approaching Te Koutu Domain. The trees, gardens and lawns in this wilderness park were planted by Thomas Wells, an Englishmen who came to New Zealand in 1866 and was a member on the Cambridge Town Board. The Domain is located in the center of the town and includes bowling greens, tennis courts and walking trails. Most of the trees in the park are chestnut, oak and Kauri. Look out for the Cameila Grove, planted in 1962, that is magnificent in spring when it starts to bloom.
