Welcome to the Ruapehu District, coming up ahead is the Raukawa Falls. The waterfalls are considered to be one of the top ten waterfalls in New Zealand. Its 15 meters high and roughly 40 meters wide. The falls were described by a man named Field in the 1860’s as “what must be one of the finest waterfalls in New Zealand, and which until now has been unknown to Europeans”
