You are now approaching the Basin Reserve Cricket Ground and the New Zealand Cricket Museum. This cricket stadium has been used for international games since the 1800’s and is still one of the country’s best sporting venues. The ground is nestled between Mount Victoria and Mount Cook. The field gets a lot of sun and has a grassy bank on the one side where spectators can often be seen sun bathing while enjoying a good game of cricket. On one of the old grand stands you’ll find the New Zealand Cricket Museum. Inside visitors will find cricket mementoes and memorabilia as well as a library of cricket books. The museum is open from 10:30am until 3:30pm in the evening during the cricket season.
