Coming up is the Petone Settlers Museum. The museum is located on the Esplanade on the foreshore in the bay area. The Settlers Museum commemorates the landing of the earliest settlers to New Zealand. The architecture of the building is worth seeing and the museum is located only five minutes from the busy Jackson Street Cafes. The displays are mainly about the migration and settlement in the Upper Hut and Wellington areas. Opening times are from 12am to 4pm from Tuesday to Friday and from 1pm until 5pm on weekends and public holidays.
