You are now approaching the ‘On Yer Bike Little Earth Model Village’. Little Earth is an exhibition of indoor and outdoor model villages of real West Coast towns. The two towns represented in this village are Waiuta and Reefton. Waiuta is South Island’s richest gold field and the first model village to be built with more than 250 buildings on one acre. Reefton is famous as the first town in New Zealand to be supplied with electricity and is known as the ‘Town of Light.’ Experience the miniature models of the town for yourself and learn about New Zealand’s gold mining history.
