You are approaching the town of Ross, a small and historic goldmining town. This friendly little town was made famous when New Zealand’s largest nugget was found here in 1909, known as the Honourable Roddy Nugget. Today remnants of the gold rush can be seen everywhere, in the landscapes, the original buildings, tunnels and the mining relics are all evidence of early mining activities in town.
