You are now approaching the Denniston Coal Fields Historic Area. Denniston used to be the sight of a steep incline coal railway. Although the town is now abandoned visitors can see the remaining wagons and track and look down from the edge of the mountain where the incline used to be. Turn left for the Denniston Bridle Track Walkway and Conn’s Creek which is at the bottom of the incline. If you keep going straight you will reach the top of the incline at the summit of the mountain. The historic area has various walking tracks which are a chance to take in the history and scenery of Denniston.
