Coming up is the Haast River and Pleasant Flat Recreational Area. The Haast River stretches for miles through a glacial valley surrounded by lush green mountains in the South Westland District. The Pleasant Flat Recreational Area is an attractive picnic and camping area with impressive views of Mount Hooker. Overnight camping is permitted for a small fee.
